Consumer Technology

Tech launches are fast, crowded, and unforgiving. Our job is to help brands cut through the noise and show people why the innovation matters. From headline-grabbing product debuts to holiday gift guides and CES showcases, we’ve helped brands turn crowded moments into opportunities.

At 1952 PR, we’ve partnered with brands like ZAGG, mophie, Jabra, and Govee, crafting programs rooted in storytelling but tailored to each product’s unique place in the market. Here’s how we’ve brought those stories to life:

ZAGG iPhone 17 Launch

In a category where dozens of accessories debut overnight, we made sure ZAGG stood out, securing 22 hands-on previews in a curated NYC space with outlets like WIRED, WSJ, CNET, Real Simple, The Shortcut, and Ubergizmo, plus a dozen additional virtual briefings with Forbes, Engadget, and Digital Trends. We built detailed media guides that went beyond beats to capture reporters’ personal interests and hobbies, creating meaningful connections. Add in embargoed product seeding, long-lead anticipation, and 10 months of prep that included analyzing iPhone 16 coverage to identify wins and gaps, and ZAGG was positioned as the go-to accessory brand during Apple’s biggest news cycle. In just the first week post-launch, ZAGG Business Insider named ZAGG “Best Clear Case” and Macworld named a new case in ZAGG’s lineup the “best rugged case.”

Mophie

For products where specs are table stakes, we focused on translating features into everyday benefits. We zeroed in on commerce reporters to drive lifestyle and shopping-driven coverage, making sure these brands landed in key consumer moments like the holidays, Father’s Day, and Amazon Prime Day. This shifted perception from “tech specs” to “products people buy, gift, and use.” With earned media coverage secured in outlets like Travel + Leisure, CNET, Wirecutter, Rolling Stone, and Tom’s Guide, among others.

Lifestyle

Lifestyle PR is about more than visibility; it’s about creating cultural connection. From sexual wellness to food, travel, and mobility, we’ve helped brands tell stories that reflect their DNA while sparking conversations people actually care about.

At 1952 PR, we’ve partnered with brands such as ASTROGLIDE, eharmony, Viator, Lucid Motors, Gazelle, Urban Arrow, and Cricut, building campaigns rooted in storytelling but tailored to each brand’s unique challenges and opportunities. Here’s how we’ve brought those stories to life:

Lifestyle

eHarmony

For eharmony’s annual Rule Breaker Report, we partnered with their agency team to turn a dense set of data into fun, clickable dating predictions for the year ahead. By tapping into cultural trends, and coining our own terms like Filter-Free Dating, Textual Chemistry, and Blocked Booty Calls, we framed the insights in a way that felt fresh and media-ready. We drafted the press release, built targeted U.S. and Canadian media lists, and worked closely with eharmony’s in-house relationship expert to provide analysis and serve as spokesperson. The campaign kept eharmony top-of-mind with singles, securing coverage in outlets like PureWow, The Everygirl, and The Kit.

Lifestyle

Gazelle

With limited budgets and a bi-annual product cadence, consistency matters. We built a drumbeat of coverage around every launch, creating a strategic outreach plan that let the bikes speak for themselves. Premium by design, Gazelle’s bikes were positioned through embargoed outreach up to three months ahead of launch, paired with media loaner trials to deliver authentic, first-hand reviews. The spring launch of four models generated 42 pieces of coverage, 79M views, and features in outlets including Bicycling, Gear Junkie, WIRED, Electrek, Men’s Journal, and Tom’s Guide.

San Diego

1952 PR was born in San Diego — it’s home, and it shapes how the agency approaches its work. Because of that, 1952 PR naturally understands the local stories people care about, the moments that matter, and the outlets this community actually pays attention to. The agency has partnered with San Diego–grown brands like Rubio’s Coastal Grill, Next Era Legal, MANSCAPED, and ASTROGLIDE, along with supporting local nonprofits, all with the goal of helping them show up in meaningful ways across the city.

Whether it’s elevating local founders, creating market-specific buzz, or highlighting offerings that resonate with people who live and work here, 1952 PR focuses on making brands feel rooted, relevant, and connected to their community.

Here’s a look at how we’ve turned that approach into real, local impact.

San Diego

Rubio’s Coastal Grill

After filing for bankruptcy, Rubio’s, the West Coast chain behind the original fish taco, brought us on to help create a groundswell of positive media coverage and reset its story after 30 years in business. The challenge: how do you generate national attention for a regional fast-casual restaurant? Our solution was to position Rubio’s longtime chef, with 20+ years at the brand, as a thought leader while also highlighting comeback narratives, deals and menu innovation. In the first 90 days, we secured 40+ earned media stories, and in the first five months almost 200 placements in outlets including The Takeout, Chowhound, Reader’s Digest, Eat This, Not That, and regional staples like the San Diego Business Journal, Orange County Register, and Los Angeles Daily News.

San Diego

Next Era Legal

For Next Era Legal, our goal was to build strong local visibility for its San Diego–based founder while also positioning him as an expert in business and real estate law. We focused on profile-driven pieces that let him share the “why” behind launching a modern firm and explain the Fractional General Counsel model that sets Next Era apart, while also highlighting the personal story and leadership traits that drive him. This approach led to features in SD Voyager and Shoutout SoCal, recognition as a Top Lawyer by the San Diego Business Journal, and national placements including Forbes, Business.com, and an in-depth Law360 article on the firm’s launch, a steady, evolving stream of coverage that grows alongside the firm.

Let’s Build Together

From thoughtful media strategy to founder visibility, we help brands and leaders tell stories that stick. Whether you need a full-service PR partner or a fractional consultant, 1952 PR is here to grow with you.
